Behind the mind: EPISODE 1
A Deepdive Into My Partake Workflow.
Hi, i’m Masha.
You may know me as the Owner & Founder of Phoenix Nights.
Welcome to the first of our new series: Behind The Mind. Where I will be inviting you into the creative processes and journeys of both myself and other talented individuals in our community. Together, we’ll explore the steps we take to transform our ideas into captivating and immersive experiences.
In this episode, I’ll share my personal approach to tackling challenges and expressing our vision through thoughtful design and execution in relation to Partake.
As the Brand Director of Phoenix Nights, it’s my responsibility to ensure that our brand remains consistent, impactful, and memorable. This philosophy extends to every aspect of my design, including the Partake posts.
So, let’s get started. Grab a cup of coffee and settle in – I hope that many of you will be inspired to harness your own creativity and use it to achieve great things.
From Concept To Creation
I devote a significant portion of my time to working with the team at Phoenix Nights, from our fantastic Studio group to the Managers and my incredibly passionate, dedicated venue Staff.
A considerable amount of planning goes into our Editions, which you may have seen on Partake and perhaps had the opportunity to visit and experience for yourself. We schedule events months in advance, and many of us do this in our own free time – efficient planning is essential. It’s important for those new to the club scene in FFXIV to prioritize their mental health. Manage your workload effectively and don’t hesitate to ask for help!
Establish a clear focus and work on that. Our events begin as wild ideas. We discuss them for weeks, talk about who we want to involve, and decide on the roles each of us will play in managing the event’s delivery, both before and during the night.
Not every idea succeeds; we’ve done over 40 Editions – some with outstanding interactive success, while others miss the mark. Regardless, we always return to the drawing board to learn what we can improve, even if the event was a hit. The key to success is to build on what works for you and address the challenges that arise in a professional and sensible manner.
We do this for the community and for fun. It’s natural to feel that you should gain something from your efforts, and when the time and energy you invest is recognized, the community will reciprocate by investing in you and your club with their time and appreciation.
Our ideas come from what myself & my staff get the most excited about, from pop culture, to movies, to videogames etc.
Whatever is going to be fun.
We ask ourselves key questions before taking on an idea:
- What content can we make for it?
- Who can we involve?
- Why should we do it?
- Have people heard of it?
- How will we deliver it?
- Is it appropriate?
- Can it work in our FFXIV environment?
- Will we have enough time to deliver every expectation of the event?
- What investments will we require?
Have we gone mad?
